Is there anything more romantic than a Central Park photo shoot? I’ll wait…
Didn’t think so! Because of that, it’s the perfect place to do your engagement photos.
Doing an engagement session is one of the most fun experiences of the whole wedding process! It’s where we’ll get to know each other, get comfortable, and you’ll get timeless images to hang on your wall that look totally different from your wedding shots. It’s something that both my couples and I look forward to most.
I’m lucky enough to say that I am a seasoned central park engagement photographer, and I’d love to show off my craft as you get ready for your big day.
Let’s take a peek at Wendy and Nicholas’s engagement shoot in Central Park, so you can get an idea of what’s possible for yours!
Wendy and Nicholas are such a hot couple, which made them so much fun to shoot. We discussed so many ideas for their engagement shoot to make it truly epic for them, and I’m so happy we landed on doing their session in Central Park. Wendy wanted a location that brought elegance with it, and this was the perfect fit.
Ultimately, having pictures in this stunning location was most important to them, and I was totally on board with that. We had a great time shooting in the park, and I’m so happy with how these photos turned out – I think this couple is too!
For the most part, we stuck to capturing Bethesda Terrace engagement photos, and they are fire. Take a look at this dope, gorgeous couple.
I’m sure you have tons of questions about a central park photo shoot if it’s something you are thinking about right after getting engaged. If that’s you, I would definitely consider it. It’s a great place to grab so many photos that would look amazing up on your wall.
Luckily, I have some answers to all of those questions for you!

Great news if you want some epic Central Park Photography. Visitors are welcome to take photos in Central Park using handheld equipment or a tripod, and do not need a permit. This makes both our lives easier! I know I can get you all the epic photos you’ve dreamed of for your engagement shoot.
Central Park is one of my favorite places to shoot, and I can’t wait to see all the images we get from your engagement shoot there.
For an engagement shoot, it’s best to avoid neon colors in all attire. But this doesn’t mean shying away from color altogether! I’m a big fan of muted tones that are sure to complement each other when I’m shooting my amazing couples. If you are looking for a ton of advice on exactly what to wear…
Check out my blog post on that here.
Wendy and Nicholas decided to go with a more classic, powerful look in all black in both their formal and casual outfits during their Central Park photo shoot. I also love this, white, and navy if you want to get more classy, elegant shots during your engagement session.
These central park engagement photo locations are sure to wow every time. They clearly did for Wendy and Nicholas and have for so many other couples too.
And, of course, you are in NYC – don’t forget to take advantage of strolling through the city and grabbing some dope shots while you do that too!
Wendy and Nicholas wanted a formal and casual look during their shoot, and I helped them style it exactly to their taste. We talked about what would look best while we were getting their Bethesda Terrace engagement photos, along with other locations around Central Park.
Having a formal and casual look is exactly what I suggest to all of my couples as they think about styling their engagement shoot.
Wendy went with a stunner of a black dress for their formal, chic look, and Nicholas went with a classic boss like black suit.
They stood out looking vibrant and elegant for their casual, fun look but toned it down a notch with a black jumpsuit for Wendy, and Nicholas took off his suit jacket.
Keeping with the theme of both powerful and elegant in both looks, they looked exciting while keeping a modest clean look, as if they were going on a lowkey date night downtown. Love how hot this couple still looked even when they changed into more casual attire!
It’s like I always say, “the early bird gets the worm!” In this case the worm is a wide open section of central park without the OVERWHELMING and EXHAUSTING presence of NYC tourists and dog walkers! As much as I love a photobomb from a midtown french bulldog, we have to be early birds to have a successful shoot in Central Park!
So, whenever I shoot in Central Park, I always tell couples it has to be a 7 am start time. This is the only way we can be sure the location will be empty, which we want to have the most epic photos of you two!
After this, crowds, dogs, and the general hustle and bustle of the day all trickle in. But, it’s worth it to get up, ready, and get there to have shots like Wendy and Nicholas did during their engagement shoot!
Wendy and Nicholas truly showed up and showed out! I knew they would. Doing a Central Park photoshoot with them was everything I thought it would be and more. I know they are stoked about their photos and will enjoy them for many years to come.
They are hot, gorgeous, dope, and best of all, kind. Their marriage is going to be one for the books.
I can’t wait to shoot their wedding this year at the Park Chateau, East Brunswick, NJ. It’s going to be like a movie! I know they’ll show up looking absolutely phenomenal there, too, with all of their friends and family there to witness their epic love.
